Update 4/27/20
We are sad to have to cancel our public gathering for Community Planting Day for the meadow that was scheduled for May 9th, 2020. Our staff and select volunteers will go forward with planting the ordered plants as a part of our ongoing donation sponsored program.
If you and/or family members would like to schedule a specific 30-45 minute planting time on May 9th, please call us (352-317-7307) to reserve your time. We will have all the native plants on site.
Community Planting Day
PCCC’s Living Memorial Program is a way to give grieving people and the land what they need. When you donate to plant a living memorial you, the plant, and your loved one help contribute to the cemetery as a living memorial to all who are buried here.
Once a year for each ecosystem we have a planting day where family and friends can join our staff and other volunteers as we restore the cemetery by planting a Living Memorial at their loved one’s grave.
Join us this Saturday to have a Living Memorial planted at your loved one’s grave.
Please note, on this day we will only be planting species appropriate for the meadows, or prairie areas, of the cemetery. We will have another Community Planting Day for the hammocks and wooded areas of the cemetery in the fall.
