Do you want a natural burial?
The best way to learn about Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery (PCCC) and what we do is to take a tour of the cemetery with one of our staff members. If you are interested, please call us at (352)336-5910.
As a nonprofit community cemetery, PCCC carries an exempt-cemetery license, which means we cannot accept payment before a death occurs. However, there are a number of options to ensure your wishes are followed.
The first is our Burial Preference Form. This document is primarily a planning tool to discuss your preferences with your family, friends, and loved ones. Potential patrons can indicate their desire to be buried at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery by completing and returning a copy of their Burial Preference Form. When we receive a completed copy of the form we treat it as a general reservation in the cemetery.
If you would like to prepay for your burial, some funeral homes can include our cost in a plan with their services. There are other options as well, such as CDs payable upon death or dedicated savings accounts. Prepaying a funeral home is a choice some people make, but the most important thing to do is to make and share a plan. To understand the decisions involved in arranging a natural burial, please review our Burial Planning Guide and our FAQ page, and/or give us a call.
