Community Planting Day
PCCC’s Living Memorial Program is a way to give grieving people and the land what they need. When you donate to plant a living memorial you, the plant, and your loved one help contribute to the cemetery as a living memorial to all who are buried here.
Once a year for each ecosystem we have a planting day where family and friends can join our staff and other volunteers as we restore the cemetery by planting a Living Memorial at their loved one’s grave.
To ensure social distancing and allow for sanitation of our tools, we will be individually scheduling times for each planting. To reserve a plant for a loved one’s grave and schedule your planting time, call us at (352) 317-7307 or email us at info@prairiecreekconservationcemetery.org. We have a wide selection of plants available for this planting day and will help you select the right one for your loved one’s gravesite.
Please note, on this day we will only be planting species appropriate for the hammocks, or wooded areas, of the cemetery. We will have another Community Planting Day for the meadow and prairie areas of the cemetery in the spring.
